The basic and low-cost system to provide hydraulic pressure for a Universal Calibrating Machine and Universal Scale Calibrator is a Morehouse hand pump.
It is the standard system for generating the hydraulic pressure for several Morehouse Calibrating Machines. It does not need an electric power source to operate.
It has two speeds of operation to control the applied force to the force standard and unit under test. It offers a vernier for fine control of the forces being generated. The pump is commonly used for force machines with capacities up to 60,000 lbf. Around 60,000 lbf or more, it is recommended that a Morehouse Hydraulic power control be used.
