2027 - Force Fundamentals: Morehouse In-Person Training
Join us March 24–26, 2027, for a hands-on, in-person Force Fundamentals Training Course at our York, PA facility. This three-day session is built for professionals involved in force measurement and calibration. Classes run Wednesday, March 24, and Thursday, March 25, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday, March 26, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Lunch is provided on Wednesday and Thursday, and we'll host an optional dinner, included with your registration, on one of the course evenings. Sessions may run later than scheduled to cover questions, and we'll poll participants on end times so the class can decide how much additional content to take on. Morehouse in-person training focuses on practical, applied instruction in force calibration. Key topics include common sources of error in everyday force measurements, the effects of misalignment and improper adapter use, and how thread depth and thread loading affect accuracy. You'll also learn best practices for calibrating force measurement devices based on how they're actually used, so you can keep uncertainty as low as possible. Whether you're new to force calibration or looking to sharpen your expertise, you'll leave with more accurate measurements and more confidence in them.

Start With the End in Mind: Building Measurement Confidence Before the Work Begins Every measurement is a decision under uncertainty, and the wrong decision can trigger rework, recalls, regulatory exposure, or worse. This webinar, presented by Henry Zumbrun of Morehouse Instrument Company, teaches a risk-first framework for force and torque measurement that starts where most organizations finish: at the end result. Rather than selecting equipment and hoping for the best, attendees will learn to define acceptable risk upfront, including both the likelihood of error and the consequences of a wrong decision, and then work backward to choose the right calibration provider, equipment, and processes. Measurement, Calibration, and Uncertainty Management Using Force Measurement Examples (Online Course): Featuring Dilip Shah and Henry Zumbrun
Join Henry Zumbrun and Dilip Shah on March 9th-12th (1-5 PM EST) for this online, four-day training program providing a comprehensive foundation in force measurement, calibration principles, and uncertainty evaluation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and is designed for technicians, engineers, and quality professionals seeking to ensure high-quality, traceable force measurements. Delivered through live, instructor-led virtual sessions and interactive discussions, the course guides participants through the complete force calibration process, from force fundamentals and good measurement practices to method verification, standards selection (including ASTM E74 and ISO 376), uncertainty evaluation, reporting, and conformity assessment. Participants will learn how to apply ISO/IEC 17025 and ILAC requirements, identify and manage key uncertainty contributors such as repeatability, reproducibility, reference standards, and environmental effects, determine Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC), evaluate proficiency testing, create and interpret control charts, and make defensible statements of conformity in compliance with ILAC G8 and ISO/IEC 17025 Clause 7.8.6. Although this class focuses on force-based examples, the concepts apply to all metrology disciplines. The course includes digital training materials, reference summaries, and calculation templates, and is instructed by Henry Zumbrun and Dilip Shah.
