Morehouse MURA Metrology Chatbot
Morehouse has launched our Metrology Chatbot. The bot is found on our website and is active on every page. The major advantage of our MURA (Measurement Uncertainty Resource Assistant) is it is trained using all of the material from our website and more. See our official press release here.
This might be important because a normal ChatGPT or other bot sessions may comb the web for answers, which may not be related to Metrology.
Such was the case when we asked ChatGPT What is PFA?
When we ask the same question to our MURA metrology Chatbot, we get a much more appropriate answer.
PFA and PFR are terms more for the calibration provider and are found in several metrology documents. They relate to the customer as they are another way of stating whether the product is in conformance or nonconformance.
Question two for our Metrology Chatbot.
What is the stability criteria for ASTM E74?
When MURA is asked the same question.
Here Mura Chatbot answers the question directly by citing the exact section of the standard. If anyone is interested in ASTM E74, we have several blogs that can be found here.
And speaking of blogs, if you ask MURA a question that closely matches a blog or article we have written, MURA will pull the website.
Overall, the technology is not perfect. However, MURA will pull it up if someone is looking for an answer to a metrology-based question that Morehouse has content in our guidance documents, website, or several papers we have published.
The major benefit is the time saved searching through our website pages or articles when a correctly typed search can have the answer for you in seconds.
Note: This does not include product spec sheets or some other .pdfs on our site.
Morehouse's core values are promoting a positive customer experience and raising the standard. We believe the months we have spent training MURA will help our customers make better measurements.
Don't take our word for it; we found a session where one of our website visitors commented when we were in trial mode :).
The visitor had this to say: "Dear Morehouse, I noticed your website now contains "MURA (Measurement Uncertainty Resource Assistant)." I have tried it and I am very much impressed and satisfied with its responses. Congratulations to Morehouse for such innovation. It says a lot about the technical capability of your company."
MURA Metrology Chatbot- Conclusion
Artificial Intelligence and open AI are in the news a lot lately. This technology can be a tremendous time saver when the right questions are asked.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI. It is based on the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, specifically GPT-3.5, which stands for GPT-3 with some updates and improvements.
GPT-3.5 is one of the most advanced language models and is trained on a massive amount of text data to generate human-like responses to prompts or questions.
OpenAI has trained ChatGPT to be helpful, but it may sometimes produce incorrect or nonsensical responses. We have training our MURA Metrology Bot and hope everyone can have some fun trying it out.

Everything we do, we believe in changing how people think about force and torque calibration.
We challenge the "just calibrate it" mentality by educating our customers on what matters and what causes significant errors and focus on reducing them.
Morehouse makes simple-to-use calibration products. We build awesome force equipment that is plumb, level, square, and rigid and provide unparalleled calibration service with less than two-week lead times.
