Different dynafors can measure different loads and tensions starting from a few kilograms up to 250 tons. The precision of these devices has to be high. The allowed error is 0,1% up to 0,5 % of full scale, depending on the device model.
Our force standards laboratory has facilities for calibrating from 0.1 lbf through 2.25M lbf, or its equivalent in kgf or Newtons, compression (1.2M lbf in tension). Featuring deadweight calibrations up to 120,000 lbf, with weights directly calibrated by NIST. Deadweight calibrations are the most accurate calibrations, our deadweights are accurate to better than 0.002 % of applied force. The calibration of all of our equipment is traceable to SI through the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
