We Challenge the "Just Calibrate It" Mentality

We educate our customers on what matters, what causes significant errors, and focus on reducing them. The failure to replicate use, by simulating the tire, will result in significant errors which can lead to higher risk and mass recalls.

Using the Right Adapters is Critical

Aircraft and Truck scale calibration often requires special adapters to simulate a tire. Scales come in a variety of sizes and have specific tolerances. The problem is that not many calibration laboratories use the right adapters, or consider the impact of the uncertainty of the reference standard used for calibration. It is quite annoying to find out your calibration provider did not calibrate your scales properly.

Hassle-Free Results

We will make sure your scale calibration is done correctly. Our calibration services are tailored and customized with you in mind. We will verify work instructions are clear and all equipment is in good working order. We will use adapters to simulate via calibration, how the equipment is being used. If applicable, we will replace batteries. We will do whatever we can do to help make your truck and aircraft scales work for you.

Replicating the Tire Footprint

Truck and Aircraft Scale calibration should be done with the proper size adapter. For aircraft and truck scales, this means replicating the tire footprint. Using the wrong adapter can produce a noticeable difference outside the allowable tolerance.

Measurement Accuracy

If you need to certify something is within a tolerance of 0.1 % of applied force, you should not use a standard with a 0.1 % accuracy. Measurement uncertainty must be taken into account and the further away from a NMI (National Metrology Institute) the larger the uncertainty will become. If the Uncertainty of the measurement is not less than the tolerance required, there will be significant risk. If you need to get the most accurate measurement from your scale calibration, and want to minimize this risk, choose Morehouse for your calibration needs.

Capabilities

We take great measures to calibrate truck and aircraft scales properly.
Proper adapters to simulate the tire which ensures scales are calibrated to reflect 'real world' circumstances.
Force calibration with primary deadweight standards from 0.1 lbf to 120,000 lbf with Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) better than 0.002 % of applied force
Secondary Standards are known to within 2.5 lbf through 25,000 lbf, or 4.7 lbf through 60,000 lbf
Test Accuracy Ratio (TAR) better than 4:1
Uncertainties that are often at least 4 times greater than the tolerance of the truck or aircraft scale
